Skid Row is an American hard rock band that was formed in Toms River, New Jersey in 1986. They consist of ZP Theart (voclas), Dave Sabo (guitar), Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass) and Rob Hammersmith (drums).

Dave Sabo and John Bongiovo (Bon Jovi) were teenage friends and Sabo was briefly a member of the band Bon Jovi, before he was replaced by guitarist Richie Sambora.

Sabo and Bongiovi agreed that if one of them made it in the music business, he would help the other out, and so, Bon Jovi's manager Doc Mcghee sought out Skid Row, and in 1988 secured them a record deal with Atlantic Records.

Skid Row achieved commercial success during the late 1980s and early 1990s, with their successful albums Skid Row from 1989 and Slave to the Grind from 1991 which was certified multi-platinum and also topped Billboard 200 album chart. Their third album Subhuman Race from 1995 was also critically acclaimed, but was less successful than their previous two albums.

As of 1996, Skid Row had sold 20 million albums all over the world.
