The band's top-selling album is their 1983 album Eliminator, which sold over 10 million copies in the US. The iconic car that appeared in ZZ Top's videos and on the album cover of their album Eliminator is also known as the Eliminator.

It is a 1933 Ford that Billy Gibbons had made into a hot rod, starting working on it in 1976. The car proved so popular, that Gibbons had another car built just like it to go on tour.

Gibbons was into hot rods and for many kids watching MTV channel, the Eliminator was their first look at one in action.
