1985: David Bowie and Mick Jagger recorded their own version to the song 'Dancing In The Street'. It was a big hit in 1964 for Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. The single became a No.1 UK hit. The original plan was to perform a track together live, as David Bowie was performing the song at Wembley Stadium and Mick Jagger at John F. Kennedy Stadium. Only when it was realized that the satellite link-up would cause a half-second delay, which would make it impossible to achieve, they dropped this plan. The only way it would have been possible to do, was if either David Bowie or Micker Jagger mimed their singing, but this was something neither of the two was willing to do.
