The Greg Kihn Band is an American band that was formed in 1976 in Baltimore. The band started by Greg Kihn (frontman) and Steve Wright (bass). The band's most successful singles are "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" and "Jeopardy".
The song "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" celebrates the quality of breakup songs in rock's earlier times, as the narrator laments both his own recent breakup and the fact that they don't write good breakup songs anymore.
The song "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" was the first hit for the band and also their biggest hit until they scored with "Jeopardy" in 1983, which became an even bigger hit for the band.
