The Cranberries are an Irish rock band that was formed in 1989 in Limerick.

Brothers Noel and Michael Hogan formed a boy band in 1989 with drummer Fergal Lawler and singer Niall Quinn. Less than a year later, singer Niall Quinn left the band that was then known as The Cranberry Saw Us, and was replaced by singer and songwriter Dolores O'riordan, to form The Cranberries, one of the most famous Irish acts of all time.

The Cranberries had sold more than 40 million records all over the world, and achieved four top 20 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.

On 15 January 2018, lead singer Dolores O'Riordan was found dead. She had drowned in a hotel room bathtub in London. The Cranberries will release In the End in 2019, and this will be the band's last album. The band will disband after that as "the Cranberries was the four of us".

The song "Dreams" by The Cranberries is a very hopeful song in which Dolores O'riordan, lead singer of the band, sings about meeting a special someone who makes her deliriously happy.

Dolores wrote the song about her first love when she was living in Ireland. The song is about feeling really in love for the first time. Dolores was only 20 years old when the song was first released in 1992 as the band's debut single and her youthful innocence comes through on the song.
