The Corrs are an Irish pop rock band that combines traditional Irish themes in their music. The band was formed in 1990 in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland and consists of Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle, ukulele), Sharon (violin, vocals), Caroline (drums, percussion, piano, bodhrán, vocals), and Jim (guitar, piano, keyboards, vocals).

Here are a few interesting facts about The Corrs:

1. As stated above, The Corrs are four siblings and when they were kids, their parents performed in Irish pubs under the name Sound Affair. They used to cover hits and songs by bands and acts like ABBA, The Eagles and The Police, and often brought the children along with them to their performances.

2. During his teen years, Jim Corr mastered guitar while his sister Sharon took up the violin. Caroline decided to take up drums a bit later, and Andrea started playing tin whistle when she was 19 years old.

3. The Corrs got their first big-break in 1991 when they auditioned for the film The Commitments by Alan Parker. All four Corrs members received small roles in the moive, but only Andrea got a small speaking part.

The Corrs have released 7 studio albums and numerous singles, which have reached Platinum in many countries. Their album Talk on Corners is the band's most successful album to this day, reached multi-Platinum status in Australia, and was the highest selling album of 1998 in the UK.

The Corrs is one of only a few bands and acts that held the top two positions simultaneously in the UK album charts, with Talk on Corners topping the chart and Forgiven, Not Forgotten at No.2 on the chart. In Blue, the band's third studio album topped the chart in 17 countries.

To this day, The Corrs have sold 40 million albums all over the world.
