Music facts, music trivia, interesting stories and much more. Introducing the "Did You Know" page about English alternative rock band, Republica.

Republica are an English alternative rock band tha was formed in 1994 in Windsor, Berkshire, England.

The height of the band's popularity spanned from 1996 to 1999, with their sound described by them as "technopop punk rock". The current line-up of the band consists of Saffron (vocals), Johnny Male (guitar), Tim Dorney (keyboards) and Conor Lawrence (drums).

Republica are best known for their hit song "Ready to Go" which as it turns out, has at least five main versions to it, and now we'll share them with you.

There is an unreleased version that is probably an early demo with slightly different vocal and is softer than both the US and original mixes of the song. There is the original mix version that has a more techno-pop sound while the later version contains electric guitars.

There is also a new mix version that was included in the Republica album as the opening track and became highly popular in the US. Another version was released in 2007 by German DJ Tomcraft, a Eurodance version of the song.

The last version to the song was released in 2010, with this version featuring a more aggressive sound.
