Post Malone (real name: Austin Richard Post) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer. He is known for blending different music genres, introspective songwriting, and also for his laconic vocal style.

He became interested in music as a teenager, and thought himself how to play saxophone. Malone has credited the video game Guitar Hero as his initial instructor for the guitar.

As for his stage name, Post Malone, he chose it when he was a teenager. While Post is his last name, he used a rap name generator to get "Malone." When Malone was 16 years old, he created his first self-produced mixtape, Young And After Them Riches, using the audacity digital audio editor.

Malone released his debut single "White Iverson" in 2015 and earned a recording contract with Republic Records, with "White Iverson" peaking at No.14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was later certified quadruple platinum.

Malone's debut studio album Stoney was released in 2016 and peaked at No.4 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and later was certified triple platinum. The album contained the singles "Congratulations" and "I Fall Apart,which charted in the top 20 on the Hot 100.

In 2018, Malone collaborated with Swae Lee on the song "Sunflower" for the soundtrack to the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which reached the Hot 100.
