Neneh Cherry (real name: Neneh Mariann Karlsson), is a Swedish singer, songwriter, occasional DJ, rapper and broadcaster.

Neneh Cherry has released 4 studio albums, when her debut album, Raw Like Sushi that was released in 1989 peaking at No.3 on the UK Album Chart. The album contains what became a worldwide hit single, 'Buffalo Stance', which is also our interesting fact of the day.

Neneh Cherry originally recorded the song 'Buffalo Stance' for the B-Side of Morgan Mcvey's 1986 single 'Looking Good Diving'. Three years later, she began working on her first solo album and among the songs was also a version of 'Buffalo Stance' that was mutated, via a remix by Bomb The Bass's Tim Simeon into an international hit.

Cherry said that 'Buffalo Stance' is about sexual survival and not a feminist record. It's about female strength, female attitude, female power.

Besides releasing the 4 studio albums, Cherry also formed the band cirKus in 2006 and also has collaborated with The Thing, as they released the album The Cherry Thing in 2012.
