Neil Diamond is an American musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He has scored 38 songs that reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts and 10 songs that topped the charts. He has sold over 100 million records all over the world, which makes Diamond one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

One of Neil Diamond's most known and loved songs is "Sweet Caroline" and this song is our interesting fact of the day. It seems that Neil Diamond gets asked to play this song all the time, but he revealved that his favorite song to perform is actually the song "I Am...I Said."

He explained that he can really dig into it, and that the lyric has a real resonance in his life. Diamond said that he doesn't perform the song nearly as often as the song "Sweet Caroline", but it is easily his favorite song.

Also, Diamond said that his favorite covers of his songs are UB40's version of the song "Red Red Wine" and Frank Sinatra's rendition to the song "Sweet Caroline."

In 1984, Neil Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and in 2011 into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He also received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2000 and in 2011 was an honoree at Kennedy Center. In 2018, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
