Murray Head is an English singer and actor. He has appeared in a several movies, including in the Oscar-nominated movie Sunday Bloody Sunday from 1971.
As a musician, Head is most recognised and known for his international hit songs "Superstar" and "One Night in Bangkok," and also for his album Say It Ain't So from 1975.
The song "One Night in Bangkok" tells of the meeting of two great chess players, one American and one Soviet, meeting in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. This US-USSR chess rivalry is a metaphor for the cold war.
Also, a little over 2 minutes into this song, there is a flute solo using a difficult flutter tongue technique, similar to that used on many of Jethro Tull songs. It was played by by a Swedish musician by the name of Bjorn Jason Lindh.
