Music facts, music trivia, interesting stories and much more. Introducing the "Did You Know" page about American singer, songwriter, producer, touring artist and actress, Lisa Loeb.
Lisa Loeb is an American singer, songwriter, producer, actress, touring artist and author, who started her music career with the platinum-selling No.1 hit song, "Stay (I Missed You)."
The song "Stay (I Missed You)" was used in the movie Reality Bites, which helped it become a hit single. Loeb's friend, Ethan Hawke, brought the song to the attention of Ben Stiller, who then saw Loeb perform and decided to use this song in his movie.
This was a huge break for her, who did not even have a record deal at the time. When Loeb eventually found out that her song was going to be on the soundtrack of the film, she knew it was the end of her temp work, having a gig with the consulting firm Ernst & Young at the time.
Loeb's film, television and voice-over work includes a guest starring role in the season finale of Gossip Girl, and she also starred in two other television series. Loeb has also acted in the films Fright Night, House on Haunted Hill, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and Helicopter Mom.
Lisa Loeb has released award-winning children's CDs and books, among them are Catch the Moon, Lisa Loeb's Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs, and Songs for Movin' and Shakin', Nursery Rhyme Parade! is her album and long-form video of over 30 children's favorites.
In 2010, Loeb founded the Lisa Loeb Eyewear Collection, which is based on her own designs, and also created The Camp Lisa Foundation, a non-profit that sends kids to camp.
