John Mayer is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and record producer.

In 1997, John Mayer moved to Atlanta with Clay Cook and the two formed a band by the name of Lo-Fi Masters. They didn't last long and after they decided to split, Mayer continued to play local clubs, refining his skills and on the way gaining a following.

After he appearance at the 2001 South by Southwest Festival, Mayer was signed to Aware Records, and later on signed with Columbia Records, which released Inside Wants Out, his first EP.

He has a neurological condition called Synaesthesia, which causes him to see music as colors. Mayer can describe any music he hears by the colors he perceives in it, and says that rock music is usually gray and brown. Jimi Hendrix sometimes talked about seeing colors in music and may have also had this condition.

John Mayer had won 7 Grammy Awards and by the year 2014, sold more than 20 million albums all over the world.
