Jane's Addiction is an American rock band that was formed in 1985 in Los Angeles. Jane's Addiction consists of Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Chris Chaney (bass) and Stephen Perkins (drums).

They were one of the first bands from the early 1990s alternative rock movement that gained both mainstream media attention and commercial success in the US.

As for the band's name, Jane's Addiction was named after lead singer Perry Farrell's roommate at the time of the band's formation, Jane Bainter, who was addicted to heroin.

From the initial formation of the band in 1985, they had gone through 3 different guitarists. In 1986, Dave Navarro joined Jane's Addiction as guitarist and made a lasting impression.

In 2016, the band was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
