Ian Fraser Kilmister, better known as Lemmy, was the founder and frontman of the rock band Motörhead. But, before his days as a rock star, he had other occupations.

Lemmy used to be the road manager for English progressive rock supergroup, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, as well as a roadie for one of the greatest guitarists of all-time, Jimi Hendrix, back in the 60s.

Being a roadie for Hendrix allowed Lemmy to watch him perform twice a day, for 3 months before Lemmy moved on to other projects and opportunities.

Lemmy said that watching Hendrix play was magic. He said that you would watch him and space and time would stop.

On 28 December 2015, four days after his 70th birthday, Lemmy died at his apartment in Los Angeles from prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure.
