Faith No More is an American rock band that was fromed in 1979 in San FranciscoCalifornia.

At the beginning, the band performed as Sharp Young Men, but later changed the name to Faith No Man in 1982.

Faith No More went through a series of singers, including a brief stint with Courtney Love. Band member Billy Gould has some good memories of Love, stating that she was actually really good, because she was annoying as hell, but also very aggressive.

In 1983, Chuck Mosely was finally hired as the vocalist of Faith No More, but in 1987, Mosely was proving unpredictable and often impaired by alcohol, so much that he even fell asleep onstage at the release party for the band's "Introduce Yourself" album.

So, after touring the album, the rest of the band members decided to fire Mosely and Mike Patton was hired as the band's lead vocalist in 1989.

The overall theme of the song "Last Cup of Sorrow" by Faith No More is to let go of conflicts or problems of the past and just "get on your way."

It could also imply that hanging on to your past sorrows like breakups, divorce, unrealized goals and materialism can eventually leave you in a crippled state of confusion later in life.

Finishing your "last" cup of sorrow is a way of moving into the future and thus leaving your problems where they should be, which is in the past.
