Dave Matthews Band, is an American rock band that was formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Dave Matthews Band was founded by Dave Matthews (lead vocals, songwriter, guitar), Stefan Lessard (bass), Carter Beauford (drums, backing vocals) and LeRoi Moore (saxophone). Later on, Boyd Tinsley (violin) joined the band as well.

Here are a few interesting facts about Dave Matthews Band:

1. Their self-produced debut album, Remember Two Things, sold at a rate of 10,000 copies every month, despite being distributed out of the band's office alone.

2. Dave Matthews Band allows fans to tape their shows. This helped create a large interactive community, but also led to problems when illegal bootleg cds found their way to the black market.

3. The first public show for Dave Matthews band was at the Charlottesville 1991 Earth Day Festival. They started playing weekly shows and gigs, and developed a huge regional following.

Dave Matthews Band plays its songs differently each time they are performed live, something which bacame unique fo the band. This has become a staple of the band's live shows since the early 1990s.

Their 2018 album, Come Tomorrow, debuted at the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, which made the band the first group to have 7 consecutive studio albums debut at the peak. 

As of 2018, the band has sold over 80 million tickets since its inception and a collective 68 million CDs and DVDs combined.
