Cutting Crew are an English rock band that was formed in 1985 in London and are best known for their hit song "(I Just) Died in Your Arms."

The song "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" was written by Nick Van Eede, the band's lead singer, about his girlfriend and the mother of his daughter. The two got back together for one night after a year apart, but Nick still had his doubts, hence the lyric in the song, "I should have walked away."

Nick awoke that morning and wrote the basic lyrics of the song within an hour and then wrote and recorded the demo completely within three days. The song topped the US chart and reached the No.4 spot on the UK chart.
