Crash Test Dummies are a Canadian rock band that was formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1988. Band members have chaged over the years, but their best known line up consisted of Brad Roberts (lead vocals), Ellen Reid (co-vocals, keyboards), Dan Roberts (bass guitar, backing vocals), Benjamin Darvill (harmonica, mandolin), and Mitch Dorge (drums, percussion).

The band is named after the devices used to test the effects of car accidents on humans and their best known song is without a doubt their 1993 single "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm", which we will discuss about right now.

The song "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" was produced by Jerry Harrison, who was the guitarist of the band Talking Heads, and tells the story of three children whose strange experiences seem normal to them.

Each verse in the song is centered around one of these children, each of whom was based on someone that lead singer Brad Roberts knew, or on his own personal experience.

After a multi-year hiatus, the Crash Test Dummies returned in 2015 with a new tour and also the new charity single "Promised Land" which was a collaboration with Marc Mysterio following up his remix of the song "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm".
