Beyoncé (real name: Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and actress.

In the late 1990s, Beyoncé rose to fame as lead singer of the R&B girl-group Destiny's Child, which became one of the best-selling girl groups in history. In 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, established the singer as a solo artist all over the world and also debuting at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart.

Here are a few interesting facts about Beyoncé:

1. Beyoncé set a record at the 2010 Grammy Awards for most Grammys won by a female artist in one night, as she won 6 of the 10 awards she was nominated for.

2. Traveling around the world and playing shows and gigs gives Beyoncé the time to relax. She loves having all day off when she is on tour, and even admitted that she sometimes she sleeps until 3 o'clock.

3. Beyoncé developed a 3-hour routine of preparing before each concert. She says a prayer and does a stretch with all of her band mates. Beyoncé also has a playlist that she listens to every day.

Beyoncé has won many awards and accolades throughout her music career, among those awards are no less than 22 Grammy Awards out of 66 nominations, which makes her the most nominated woman in the award's history.

Beyoncé is also the most awarded artist at the MTV Video Music Awards, with 24 wins, including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. In 2008, Beyoncé was and awarded the Legend Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts at the World Music Awards. In 2011, she was presented with the inaugural Millennium Award at the Billboard Music Awards, and in 2014, she became the highest-paid black musician in history and was among the 100 most influential people in the world for a second year in a row in Time magazine.

In 2015 and 2017, Forbes ranked Beyoncé as the most powerful female in entertainment, and in 2016, she was ranked on the No.6 spot of Time's Person of the Year list.

Overall, Beyoncé has sold more than 100 million records all over the world as a solo artist, and more than 60 million records with the girl-group Destiny's Child, which makes her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
