Bette Midler is an American singer, songwriter, comedian, film producer and actress.

She was born into a poor family in Hawaii, before Hawaii was a state, and discovered the glamour of the arts and entertainment through books. Every Saturday, Bette Midler and her sister would look at pictures and read books about ballet, opera, and theater. When Midler saw a picture of Ethel Barrymore, she knew that she wanted to be her.

Bette Midler became one of the most successful, multi-talented performers in history. She earned two Academy Award nominations, won three Emmys, two Tony Award, three Grammy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.

Over the course of her career, Bette Midler has sold more than 30 million records all over the world, and has also received four Gold, three Platinum, and three Multiplatinum albums by RIAA.
