LP (real name: Laura Pergolizzi) is an American singer and songwriter.
In her song "Girls Go Wild," LP is singing about a West Coast trip that two girlfriends took, where they hope to rekindle their disintegrating relationship. "Girls Go Wild" was born out of a Joshua tree excursion the singer took with some close friends after returning home from a long tour.
LP said that it was the first song she wrote for the album, when her thoughts and ideas were swirling around like a storm. It feels like she channeled her past, present and future as told through a desert dream.
So far, LP has released 5 albums and one LP. She has also written songs for other musicians and artists including: Rihanna, Cher, the Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis and Mylène Farmer.
