The Alan Parsons Project were an English rock band that formed in 1975 and were active until the year 1990. They consisted of Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson and were accompanied by various session musicians such as Ian Bairnson (guitar)Andrew PowellDavid Paton (vocals, bass), Stuart Elliott (drums), Lenny Zakatek (vocals) and Chris Rainbow (vocals).

One of the project's most known and successful songs in "Eye in the Sky" which reached the No.3 spot on the US chart. It is rumored that the song gets its theme from the novel 1984 by George Orwell.

The novel revolves aroud a dystopian future where citizens are constantly monitored by a totalitarian world government. However, it seems that the song has no connection to the novel.

"Eye in the Sky" was the most successful song that the project ever had and was their only US Top 10 hit, reaching the No.3 spot on the chart. In the UK, the song did not fare as well, but then again, none of their songs did.

Alan Parsons continue to tour and perform these days with various musicians all over the world, so you can still enjoy their music and concerts.
