Steve Winwood is an English musician whose music genres include styles of blues rock, rock, rhythm and blues, blue-eyed soul, jazz and pop rock.

Steve Winwood is a very talented musician, as he also plays different instruments, like: drums, bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, violin, mandolin and other strings.

He was a key member of The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith and Go, yet also had a very successful solo career with several hits. Among them the songs "Valerie", "While You See a Chance", "Back in the High Life Again" and two songs that topped the US Billboard Hot 100: "Roll with It" and "Higher Love".

Our interesting fact of the day comes to show you how talented Steve Winwood is, and it all started at a very young age. When he was just 14 years old, he joined The Spencer Davis Group, but his first public performance in a band already came when he was only 8 years old.

The Spencer Davis Group scored their first number one single, 'Keep on Running' when Steve Winwood was only 17 years old, and when he turned 18, he wrote the song 'I'm A Man'. So, like we said, a very talented musician, no doubt.

In 2004, Winwood was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the band Traffic. He also won several distinguished awards, among them the BMI Icon at the annual BMI London Awards in 2005, and also two Grammy Awards.

In 2011, In 2011 Winwood received the Ivor Novello Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors for Outstanding Song Collection. He is also ranked 33th on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time list.
