Snap! are a German Eurodance group that was formed by producers Luca Anzilotti and Michael Münzing in 1989. 

Snap! has changed its line-up over the years and the group's best known hits are their 1990 hit, "The Power", that reached the #2 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100, and their 1992 hit "Rhythm Is a Dancer", which reached the #5 spot on the US chart and topped the UK chart.

Our interesting fact of the day will deal with their hit, "The Power", so let's begin. When the German producers workd on the song "The Power", after the track was laced and the samples were in place, the two went looking for a good female soul singer to fill out the vocals and also contribute to the rest of the album.

They tried to get Chaka Khan, who refused since she had no interest, but she suggested Penny Ford, who was her vocal director and also main backup singer.

Penny Ford accepted for the gig and flew to Germany. There, she spent 3 days singing lots of vocals as material for the producers and improvised lyrics along the way.

They all did a great job it seems, as "The Power" became a huge hit.
