Ratt is an American heavy metal band that was formed in 1976 in Hollywood, California and had greatl success during the 1980s, with their albums having been certified as gold, platinum, and multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Along with bands and groups like Mötley Crüe, Ratt has been recognized as instrumental in the formation of the early 1980s Los Angeles glam metal scene, which is also known as "pop metal" or "hair metal".

Ratt is best known for hit singles like "Lay It Down" and "Round and Round" which ranked on Billboard's top 40 at the No. 12 spot and the No. 40 spot.

In their song "Round and Round", lead singer, Stephen Pearcy, sings about a woman who broke his heart. The singer believes, however, that things will work out in the end, as what comes around, goes around.
