Nirvana was an American rock band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987 by Kurt Cobain (lead singer, guitar) and Krist Novoselic (bass).

Although Nirvana released only three full-length studio albums during the band's seven-year music career, htey are considered as one of the most influential and important alternative bands in history.

Nirvana dissolved in 1994 after the death of Kurt Cobain, but their music maintains a popular following and continues to influence modern rock and roll culture.

In the late 1980s, Nirvana established itself as part of the Seattle grunge scene and released their debut album, Bleach, which contains the song 'About A Girl' which we will talk about right now during our did you know part of this article.

Tracy Marander, who was Kurt Cobain's girlfriend of the time, grew frustrated when she had to support him financially, so she tried hard to force him get a job, but unsuccessfully.

Only after Cobain's death, Tracy found out that the song 'About A Girl' from Nirvana's Bleach album was actually about her. She is also said to have taken the picture on the cover of the Bleach album.

Nirvan had sold more than 25 million records in the U.S. alone, and more than 75 million records all over the world. This made the band one of the best-selling bands of all time. In 2014, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, their first year of eligibility.

 

 

Kurt Cobain claimed that the song "Heart-Shaped Box" was inspired by a television report of children suffering from cancer.

However, many believe that the song was actually written about Cobain's shaky but passionate relationship with his wife, Courtney Love.

There are many possible interpretations for the heart-shaped box. It could be an actual heart, a box for Cobain's needles, or a box of love letters. There is no clear explanation, which was probably what Kurt Cobain had in mind in the first place.

 

 

Kurt Cobain wrote the song "Something In The Way" about his life.

In the song, Cobain talks about living under a bridge, which he claimed happened when he got kicked out of the house and had to live under a nearby bridge.

Cobain expresses his feelings and emotions by saying "something in the way," as he thought that everything was in the way every time he tried to feel better.

The lyrics to the song were spray painted by Cobain himself on the wall of the bridge that he lived under when he left his home. It was later painted over in a clean up of the city.
