Enjoy!
Marc Bolan (Real name: Mark Feld) was an English singer, songwriter, musician, guitarist, and poet. He was best known as the lead singer of the glam rock band T. Rex. Bolan was one of the pioneers of the glam rock movement of the 1970s.
But, did you know that before Marc Bolan became a rock star, he was actually a model?
Boln dropped out of school when he was only 14 years old in order to pursue acting, and his striking looks and sense of style earned him an appearance in a 1962 photo story for Town Magazine, covering the new mod scene.
On 16 September 1977, Bolan was riding in a Mini 1275GT that was driven by Gloria Jones as they were heading home from Mortons drinking club and restaurant in Berkeley Square.
After failing to negotiate a small humpback bridge near Gipsy Lane on Queens Ride, Barnes, southwest London, the car hit a fence post following by a tree. Bolan was killed on the spot, while Jones suffered a broken arm and broken jaw.
Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Steve Harley and Tony Visconti, all attended Bolan's funeral.
