Lisa Stansfield is an English singer and songwriter. She began her music career in 1980 when she won the singing competition Search for a Star. In 1984, Stansfield, Andy Morris and Ian Devaney formed the band Blue Zone and in 1989, she released her first solo album, Affection which includes her worldwide chart-topping single, "All Around the World."

The spoken intro in the song "All Around the World" came about when Lisa, Ian Devaney (her boyfriend) and Andy Morris were sitting around the piano. Andy started playing some chords and Lisa then began talking in a low voice, in a Barry White way. They liked the way in sounded and decided to include it on the record.

Lisa Stansfield has won many awards during her music career. These awards include the Brit Awards, Billboard Music Award, Ivor Novello Awards, ASCAP Award, World Music Award, Women's World Award, DMC Awards and Silver Clef Awards.

Stansfield has sold more than 20 million albums all over the world and in 2016, Billboard magazine ranked her at the 46th spot om the list of most successful dance artist of all-time.
