Blur are an English rock band that was formed in 1988 in Londo and consists of Damon Albarn (vocals, keyboard), Graham Coxon (vocals, guitar), Alex James (bass) and Dave Rowntree (drums).

Blur became a leading force in the Britpop music and culture movement, and achieved great success and popularity in the UK. Helping this success was their rivalry with the band Oasis.

One of Blur's known songs is "The Universal" which reached the No.5 spot on the UK chart, and that is also our interesting fact of the day. The song is about a drug (perhaps Prozac) that provides artificial happiness. The title to the song came from the name of an 'Imagined Successor to Prozac', meaning one that reduces the suspicion that anything has gone wrong.

In 2012, Blur received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
