Wham! were an English musical duo that was formed in 1981 by members Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael. In the U.S. They were briefly known as Wham! UK due to a naming conflict with an American band.

So, how did it all begin? When George Michael was in high school, he met Andrew Ridgeley. The two realized that they share a same interest and intense love for pop music.

When their friendship first blossomed, it was actually Ridgeley that was the good looking, outgoing, and confident. George Michael on the other hand, was unsure, shy and introvert.

Andrew Ridgeley decided to groom Geroge Michael into a pop star, and so he taught him how to style his hair, how to dress and how to be a charismatic performer.

Overall, from 1982-1986, Whem! sold over 30 million records all over the world.
