1965: While the band was working at Abbey Road studios in London, The Beatles recorded 'You're Going To Lose That Girl', a new song by John Lennon in only two takes. The song was released on the Help! album.

1966: Lou Christie topped the US singles chart with 'Lightnin Strikes', also a No.11 hit in the UK. Nancy Sinatra held the UK No.1 single position with 'These Boots Are Made For Walkin'.

1977: Leo Sayer had his only UK No.1 hit with the Albert Hammond and Carole Bayer Sager song 'When I Need You.' Celine Dion and Cliff Richard have scored hits with their own versions of the song.

1982: Ozzy Osbourne was arrested in San Antonio, Texas after he urinated on the Alamo. He was wearing a dress at the time of his arrest, (because his wife Sharon hid all his clothes so he couldn't go outside). Ozzy Osbourne who apparently thought he was relieving himself on a pile of rubble was banned from playing in San Antonio, Texas ever again. This ban was canceled in 1992.

 

1994: Mariah Carey scored her first UK No.1 hit with the song 'Without You', a song by Peter Ham Tom Evans. In 1972, Nilsson took this song to the No.1 spot and her version to this song was released on January 24, 1994, just over a week after Nilsson had died following a heart attack. Both Ham and Evans committed suicide, (Ham in 1975 and Evans in 1983) after an ongoing battle to receive royalties from the song.

1995: Tommy Lee, drummer of Motley Crue, married Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson on a Cancun beach, Mexico. She wore a white bikini. Anderson and Lee who married only four days after meeting, had videotaped their sexual activities while on vacation which was later stolen and released on the Internet. After they sued the video company who released the tape, Anderson and Lee entered into a confidential settlement agreement. The two divorced in 1998.

1995: Roxette became the first Western group that performed in Beijing, since George Michael back in 1984. They played a concert celebrating the Chinese New Year.
