The Lightning Seeds are an English alternative rock band that was formed in 1989 in Liverpool, and consists of Ian Broudie, Abi Harding, Martyn Campbell, Riley Broudie and Jim Sharrock.
Their song "Pure" was the debut UK hit for the band and their only Top 40 hit in the U.S. (No.31 in the U.S. and No.16 in the UK). Ian Broudie said that he sees this song as a psychedelic, hazy song, somewhere between Pink Floyd's "See Emily Play" and the song "Windmills of Your Mind."
Broudie also added that this apparently cheerful song was actually saying that these moments can't last, and it's the opposite of living forever.
