She was discovered at the Catch a Rising Star Club when she sang a Judy Garland song at 3 AM, and was signed by Chrysalis Records.

Benatar has won four Grammy Awards, has two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, three gold albums, and no less than 15 Billboard Top 40 singles.

The song "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar was written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight. They wrote the song as more of a ballad, and they were surprised to hear what Pat Benatar did with it.

When the two first heard Benatar's version of the song, they were horrified and really hated it, because her version was so different than theirs. But then, Benatar's version of the song became such a huge hit, that the two had to admit that her version was good and that's how it was meant to be.
