Michael Bolton (original name: Michael Bolotin) is an American singer and songwriter. His first records were actually hard rock, and his first album that was released in 1975 was self-titled using his origianl surename, Bolotin. The album reached only the #209 spot on the Billboard 200.

During the early 1980s, Bolton was a struggling rock singer and married father of three. In order to pay the bills during the early '80s, Bolton sang radio and TV jingles for brands like Budweiser and Dr. Pepper.

Bolton's first major was as a songwriter, co-writing the song "How Am I Supposed to Live without You" for singer Laura Branigan. The song peaked at #12 in 1983, and six years later, Michael Bolton released his own version of the song, which became his first #1 single.

Michael Bolton achieved eight top 10 albums and two No.1 singles on the Billboard charts. He also won six American Music Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Overall, Michael Bolton has sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
