Did You Know? Jimi Hendrix Had to Learn to Play Guitar Right-Handed Because His Father Believed Playing Left-Handed Was The Sign of The DevilFebruary 13, 2014

One thing Jimi Hendrix loved to do was smashing his guitar to million pieces after a searing finale and even lighting it on fire. Jimi's trademark was playing right-handed guitar using his left hand, but Hendrix knew to play either hand he chose, thanks to his father.

Jimi Hendrix was raised solely by this father ever since he came back from World War II when Jimi was only three years old. Jimi's dad was the one who taught him to play an acoustic guitar and also to play the guitar right-handed even tough Jimi played left-handed naturally much to the dismay of his father, who thought playing the guitar left-handed was the sign of the Devil no less!

Later on during his career, Hendrix began using drugs such as cocaine, pep pills and marijuana. On September 17, 1970 he took too many sleeping pills and died from chocking on his own vomit.

We will never forget you, Jimi. Play on with the angels left handed or right handed...
