The Bee Gees were an English-Australian pop music group that was formed in 1958 and consisted of brothers BarryRobin, and Maurice Gibb. They were especially successful as a popular music act during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era during the mid-to-late 1970s.

The Bee Gees wrote, produced and arranged their own songs. As songwriters, the three were extremely prolific, composing hundreds of songs, with many of their songs being recorded by other artists.

The Bee Gees are part of the songwriters hall of fame as well as the rock and roll hall of fame. Over 2,500 artists have recorded their songs. One of Their most famous songs 'How Deep Is Your Love' is the most covered song of all, with more than 400 versions. They made their songs relatable by keeping the lyrics gender-neutral.

Maurice Gibb died in 2003 due to complications of a twisted intestine. He was 53 years old. After his death, Barry and Robin retired the group's name after 45 years of activity. In 2012, Robin Gibb died after a prolonged struggle with cancer and other health problems. He was 62 years old. Today, Barry Gibb is the only surviving member of the group's final line-up.

Overall, the Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records all over the world, which makes them one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.

The Bee Gees wrote the song "How Deep is Your Love" for the American singer Yvonne Elliman. Robert Stigwood, who was the producer of the movie Saturday Night Fever, insisted that the Bee Gees perform the song themselves for the movie soundtrack.

Elliman did sing the song "If I Can't Have You," which was written by The Bee Gees and was included on the soundtrack as well.

The song "How Deep is Your Love" won the 1977 Grammy Award for best pop performance by a group, and was a massive hit in the US. The song topped the chart and stayed at the No.1 spot for three weeks, and stayed in the Top 10 for 17 weeks, which was a record at the time.
