Anita Ward is an American musician and singer, and is best known for her chart-topper from 1979, "Ring My Bell".
The song "Ring My Bell" was one of the first hit songs that featured a synthesized drum. The song was written by Anita's producer, Frederick Knight, who originally intended it for 11-year-old Stacy Lattishaw, but when Lattishaw signed with a different label, Ward was asked to sing the song instead.
Ward actually disliked the song and only recorded it as her producer insisted that they needed another dance song on the album.
